4 Corners Tour USA 2011
Total Miles Of Our Tour

12,139 miles

To see the path we took to get this miles, the best way is to view our tour map here.

Note: About 8,168 of our total miles account for the SCMA (Southern California Motorcycling Associating) “USA Four Corners Tour” award that we qualified for. These are the miles accrued starting at our first corner check-in of Madawaska, Maine (day 8 for us) to our last check-in of San Ysidro, CA.

Day 23 Miles

240.1 miles

Irvine, CA to Irvine, CA via San Ysidro, CA with some detours around the Orange County, California area.

This is the end of me accounting my daily miles.

Note: My miles will differ from Kent/Troy’s. We rode to San Ysidro together, but not the whole day long.

Day 22 Miles

628.1 miles

Ukiah, CA to Irvine, CA via the 101 with a detour on the Pacific Coast Highway (CA Hwy 1) from San Francisco to Half Moon Bay.

I got to ride the Golden Gate Bridge.

The coastal mountains in California cause funny things to happen with the weather. I rode through multiple intense climate changes as a traversed the landscape. I had to put my rain gear on again, but not to stay dry, just cause I needed another layer again to stay warm.

Tomorrow afternoon after work and some R&R, we will regroup and end this 4 Corners Tour by riding down to the Mexico border and back.

Note: My miles/route will differ from Kent and Troy for today.

Day 21 Miles

580.6 miles

Albany, OR to Ukiah, CA via Redwood Highway.

Amazing things today that won’t be summarized here.

Note: My miles/route for today is different than Kent/Troy’s because we are taking different routes down California.

Day 20 Miles

665.1 miles.

Moses Lake, WA to Albany, OR via Blaine, WA.

Washington is another fine state. We were treated with just about the best weather possible. A little chilly at times, but great.

Oregon will let you pump your own fuel if you are on a motorcycle, but the attendant has to be there with you.

So far the first 100 or so miles of Oregon has been in the dark, looking forward to the morning’s ride to finish the state in the daylight.

Day 19 Miles

466.9 miles.

West Yellowstone, MT to Moses Lake, WA

Note: I took a scenic bypass in Idaho so my miles will differ greater than Kent and Troy’s.

Day 18 miles

406.6 miles

Buffalo, WY to West Yellowstone, MT via Big Horn and Yellowstone National Parks

Day 17 Miles

706.1 miles

Sioux City, IA to Buffalo, WY with detours to Mount Rushmore and Sturgis, SD to see the crowds forming for bike week.

Sturgis was so packed I can not imagine how it will be next week during the official “bike week”.

Note: My miles were longer than Kent and Troy’s because I stayed about 200 miles East of them.  I caught up to them in Wall, SD.

Day 16 Miles

589.7 miles.

St. Louis, MO to Sioux City, IA

Some rain and detours along the way.

Day 15 Miles

412.4

Cookeville, TN to St. Louis, MO

Note: Kent and Troy are a couple hundred miles ahead of me because of the delay I hit in getting my bike serviced. They are getting oil changes in Kansas City so hopefully I cam catch up.
