4 Corners Tour USA 2011
Day 17 Miles

706.1 miles

Sioux City, IA to Buffalo, WY with detours to Mount Rushmore and Sturgis, SD to see the crowds forming for bike week.

Sturgis was so packed I can not imagine how it will be next week during the official “bike week”.

Note: My miles were longer than Kent and Troy’s because I stayed about 200 miles East of them.  I caught up to them in Wall, SD.

The Dragon Cloud
Riding out of Sturgis, SD into Wyoming we were treated with one of the most beautiful sunset scenes imaginable.
I thought this cloud looked like a dragon breathing fire.

Reunited in Wall, SD.
After being separated for the past two days due to getting bikes serviced and different riding schedules, I met back up with Kent and Troy at Wall Drug where we all ate Buffalo Burgers for lunch.
We’ll now ride through Mount Rushmore and Sturgis, SD and continue on our way.

Weird random billboards all across South Dakota for something called “Wall Drug”.
Is it a city, a store? I do not know.
My curiosity is high, but I have a 650 mile, oh wait, they have homemade donuts. I’ll stop there.

Presho, SD has a “Wild Animal Taxidermy Museum”.

Dead wild animals?

I’d stop, but a have a 650 mile ride today.

Corn Palace?
Sounds awesome.
I’d stop, but I am doing 650 miles today.
